These treatments can play a unique role in the relief of pain and promote a return to healthy emotional and physical well-being by balancing core functions and energies in the body. I work with a variety of ancient and modern methods of acupuncture, designing treatments specifically suited to the individual.
About Myself
My Story
I’ve been a professional Acupuncture Therapist since 2013. After years of training with other like-minded experts, I‘ve learned to share my experience through a combination of service and education. I’m a passionate healer with an alternative approach, and I’m dedicated to helping my clients move through a wide range of physical, emotional, and spiritual transitions in the most efficient and transformative way possible.
ACUPUNCTURE, A ROUTE TO SELF HEALING.
Several millennia ago, it was discovered that if the skin was pressed at specific points on the body, it brought relief elsewhere. To begin with fingers were used but later it was found that sharp objects were more effective. Royal physicians in China began using needles of gold and silver and recorded their results. Ever since, acupuncture has developed continuously.
Acupuncture targets the energy which circulates around the body along specific pathways known as meridians. Stimulating an energy point activates the body’s defence mechanism to restore natural balance.
YOGA
With all teaching, especially yoga, it is important to create a tailor-made programme to take into account an individual's abilities. A gentle introduction to breathing properly and stretching to balance the muscles and joints will improve alignment, flexibility and strength. As movements become more fluid, conscious body control promotes well-being.
CUPPING
Cupping works in a similar way to acupuncture by activating the self-healing properties of the body, but at a more surface level.
In cupping, suction cups are placed on specific energy points, usually on the back, to draw the circulation to the surface. This releases toxins and relieves tension.
Cupping has been used in the relief of various conditions for over 5000 years. Hippocrates, known as the Father of Modern Medicine, used cupping to treat ailments, around 400 BC.
MOXIBUSTION
This ancient technique has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TMC) for millennia. Using deep heat over acupuncture points, the healing process is stimulated along the vital energy paths.
Tui na (a form of massage) is also used with acupuncture to help move and direct the different functions of the body's energies to where they might be most needed.
